The service
Jaunt helps people experience New York City by combining walking guidance, local context, stories, landmarks, useful stops, and location-aware recommendations.
Jaunt may provide suggested walking routes, nearby points of interest, audio or visual guidance, local stories, event information, sponsored recommendations, and other content designed to help you notice more of the world around you.
Jaunt is not an emergency service, public safety service, official city service, transit authority, tour operator, or substitute for your own judgment.
Routes, stories, recommendations, and points of interest are suggestions only. You are responsible for deciding whether to follow any route, enter any area, visit any location, cross any street, use any facility, or interact with any business.
Some features may rely on your device location, connectivity, sensors, third-party maps, public data, partner content, AI-generated content, or other information sources. Availability and accuracy may vary.
Jaunt is currently offered free of charge. We may change, pause, limit, test, or discontinue parts of the service at any time, especially during early access or beta periods. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will provide the applicable pricing and terms before you purchase them.
Jaunt may include sponsored placements, affiliate links, partner recommendations, or paid local business features. We will aim to identify sponsored or paid placements where required. Sponsored placement does not mean Jaunt guarantees the quality, safety, availability, pricing, or suitability of that business, location, or experience.
You agree not to misuse Jaunt. This includes attempting to copy, scrape, reverse engineer, interfere with, overload, resell, or commercially exploit the service without our written permission. You also agree not to use Jaunt in a way that violates law, infringes another person's rights, or creates a safety risk for yourself or others.
Walking safely
Jaunt is designed to keep your eyes on the city, not on a screen - but you are still responsible for paying attention to traffic, terrain, weather, people, vehicles, bikes, scooters, construction, street closures, public notices, and your surroundings.
You agree to use Jaunt safely and lawfully. Do not rely on Jaunt as your only source of direction or safety information. Always obey traffic signals, posted signs, police instructions, park rules, transit rules, property rules, and local laws.
If a Jaunt instruction appears unsafe, outdated, blocked, restricted, or inconsistent with real-world conditions, do not follow it. Use your own judgment and choose the safer option.
Do not interact with the app in a way that distracts you while walking, crossing streets, biking, driving, riding a scooter, using public transit, or moving through crowded or unfamiliar areas. Stop in a safe place before looking at your screen, changing settings, or interacting with the app.
Jaunt may suggest parks, sidewalks, plazas, public spaces, stations, storefronts, attractions, or other locations. Access may depend on hours, weather, closures, ticketing, capacity, rules, private-property restrictions, safety conditions, or events outside Jaunt's control.
Jaunt does not guarantee that any suggested route, location, event, facility, business, or public space will be safe, open, accessible, available, or appropriate for you.
Content & accuracy
Jaunt content is provided for discovery, storytelling, convenience, and general informational purposes. It may include historical facts, local stories, descriptions of places, suggested stops, business information, event details, directions, accessibility information, amenities, restrooms, water fountains, transit references, or other local context.
We work to make Jaunt useful and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that all content is complete, current, or error-free. New York City changes constantly. Hours, access, events, prices, safety conditions, construction, transit service, restrooms, business availability, and public-space rules may change without notice.
Some Jaunt content may come from public sources, third-party providers, partners, businesses, users, or AI-assisted systems. AI-generated or AI-assisted content may contain mistakes. You should verify important information directly with the relevant venue, business, city agency, event organizer, transit provider, or official source before relying on it.
All Jaunt names, logos, product designs, routes, story formats, written content, audio, visual content, software, features, and other materials are owned by Jaunt or its licensors unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, scrape, reproduce, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit Jaunt content or technology without our written permission.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, stories, images, corrections, business information, or other content to Jaunt, you give Jaunt permission to use, edit, display, reproduce, and improve that content for operating, improving, and promoting the service. You must have the right to share anything you submit, and your submissions must not violate the rights of others.
Limitation of liability
Jaunt is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jaunt disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and uninterrupted service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jaunt and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, personal injury, property damage, missed experiences, travel disruption, or costs arising from your use of or inability to use Jaunt.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jaunt's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed $100.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other matters that applicable law does not allow Jaunt to limit.
You agree to use Jaunt responsibly and to indemnify Jaunt from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, violation of law, unsafe conduct, or infringement of another person's rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless otherwise required by law, any dispute relating to these Terms or Jaunt will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
