Location data

Jaunt uses location to make navigation work.

When you use Jaunt, we may process your device's location to:

guide you along a walking route;
show nearby stories, landmarks, green spaces, useful stops, and local context;
provide real-time navigation cues;
understand when you are near a place, point of interest, or route feature;
improve safety, routing quality, and relevance during your walk.

Jaunt is designed to use your location in the moment, to guide the moment.

After your session ends, Jaunt may keep de-identified or aggregated route data to improve the platform. This may help us understand which paths people prefer, where routes need better instructions, where walking guidance is unclear, and which areas create better real-world experiences.

Before route data is used for product improvement, we aim to remove or separate information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, account details, or other direct identifiers. We also work to reduce the risk that route data could be linked back to a specific person.

We do not sell your precise location. We do not share your personal walking path with local businesses, advertisers, or sponsors. We do not use your precise location to build advertising profiles.

You can control location access through your device settings. If you turn off location permissions, some Jaunt features may not work properly.

Audio & conversations

Jaunt may offer audio guidance, voice-based navigation, conversational prompts, or other audio features.

If you use these features, Jaunt may process your voice input, audio commands, or related transcripts to:

respond to your request;
provide navigation guidance;
explain what is around you;
improve the quality, safety, and reliability of the experience;
troubleshoot technical issues.

Jaunt does not continuously record you in the background. Audio features are intended to work only when you activate them, give permission, or use a feature that requires audio processing.

Some audio or conversation features may rely on trusted service providers, such as speech-to-text, text-to-speech, AI, hosting, or cloud infrastructure providers. These providers are allowed to process information only to help us provide Jaunt and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising.

We may store limited transcripts, logs, or interaction history if needed to improve the product, detect abuse, debug errors, or provide support. Where possible, we minimize, de-identify, or delete this information when it is no longer needed.

Account information

If you join the waitlist, create an account, request early access, contact us, or use Jaunt, we may collect information such as:

name;
email address;
city or general location;
account login details;
device type and operating system;
app usage, crash, and performance data;
saved preferences, such as walking style, interests, language, or accessibility settings;
payment-related information if Jaunt offers paid passes or subscriptions.

If payments are offered, payment information will be handled by a payment processor. Jaunt does not intend to store full credit card numbers on its own systems.

We use account information to:

create and manage your account;
provide access to Jaunt;
personalize your experience;
send service messages;
respond to support requests;
improve app reliability and safety;
prevent misuse, fraud, or abuse;
comply with legal obligations.

You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy-related help with your account information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.

Jaunt is not intended for children under 13 without appropriate parent or guardian involvement. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without required consent, we will take steps to delete it. If Jaunt later offers child-directed features, parent-managed accounts, or family-specific experiences, we will update this policy and implement the required consent and protection processes.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Jaunt, including providers for:

cloud hosting;
maps and routing;
analytics and crash reporting;
email and waitlist management;
customer support;
payment processing;
speech, audio, or AI features;
security, fraud prevention, and infrastructure monitoring.

These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to Jaunt.

We may also share information:

when you ask us to, such as if you choose to book, purchase, contact, or interact with a partner through Jaunt;
with local businesses or partners in aggregated or de-identified form, such as general engagement trends that do not identify you;
if required by law, court order, subpoena, or legal process;
to protect Jaunt, our users, or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm;
as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of company assets.

If Jaunt shows sponsored recommendations, promoted stops, or partner content, we will aim to label them clearly. We do not give sponsors your name, email, or personal walking route unless you choose to share information with them directly.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is perfect, but we work to limit access, minimize data, and protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

Website analytics

On this marketing website, we collect privacy-preserving, aggregated usage analytics to understand how the site is performing and how to improve it.

This analytics is cookieless and de-identified. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies on the site, and we do not build advertising profiles. What we measure is limited to things like:

which pages are viewed and how visitors move between them;
engagement signals such as scroll depth, time on a page, and which sections are seen;
clicks on key buttons and links, and waitlist sign-up steps (never the email you type);
general device, browser, and country (derived from your network), not your precise location;
page performance and error signals that help us fix a broken experience.

We do not store your raw IP address or your email from these analytics. A short-lived, rotating, non-reversible identifier is used only to estimate visits, and a per-tab session id (stored in your browser's session storage, not a cookie) groups a single visit together.

We honor your browser's "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals: when either is on, the site does not send these analytics events. This usage data is stored in our own infrastructure and is used in aggregate to improve Jaunt.
